“NCA pushes for favorable trade environment with Mexico
Representatives from NCA, Hershey, Mars and Kraft met with top officials in Mexico’s Department of Commerce recently to discuss the integrated nature of the Mexican and U.S. confectionery industries. NCA members expressed a strong desire to work cooperatively with Mexico on trade issues of mutual concern, including a possible duty on confectionery in retaliation to a U.S. trucking policy that hurts Mexican truckers. In 2009, the U.S. exported over $170M of confectionery products to Mexico while Mexico exported over $600M to the U.S.”
